Transgender women compete at Miss Tiffany's Universe beauty contest in Thailand

Footage shows the annual Miss Tiffany's Universe transgender beauty pageant in Pattaya, Thailand, on July 20.

The event was won by Ruethaipreeya Nuanglee, 27, who will now represent Thailand at Miss International Queen 2020 against trans women from around the world.

The 5'11'' tall (180cm) model, who wore number 30 in the competition, said the victory was a ''dream ever since childhood'' and thanked organisers.

She said: ''Now that dream has come true. Everything has moved so quickly. I am feeling so proud. I am so thankful to all the friends, brothers and sisters that helped me through the difficult times."

Ruethaipreeya is studying at the Faculty of Liberal arts at the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University.

Runners up were contestant number 25, Thanyada Kanpaipuen, who has the nickname 'Name' and contestant number 14, Patchara Sripattanakul, who has the nickname 'First'.

One of the trans women involved - who was dubbed 'Meghan Markle's identical twin' for her resemblance to the British Royal - did not win anything.

Ornnicha 'Sky' Chunruangrit was dubbed a Meghan Markle lookalike by media in the UK due to her striking resemblance to the Duchess of Sussex.

Other prizes at the were Best Evening Gown, Miss Photogenic, Miss Sexy Star, Miss Congeniality and Miss Popular Vote.
