Tributes paid to the 2 French soldiers who died during the rescue of 4 hostages in Burkina Faso


Tributes are being paid by the French public to the two soldiers who died during the rescue operation of four people being held hostage in Burkina Faso.

Parisians today (May 14) lined the streets applauding as the hearses carrying the two commandos passed by.

Cedric de Pierrepont, 32, and Alain Bertoncello, 27, were the two French commandos killed in the raid which saved two French tourists, an American and a Korean.

Bertoncello and de Pierrepont were both members of the prestigious Hubert commando unit of the French naval special forces.
