Trying to Outrun Hail in a Speed Boat

Occurred on June 1, 2019 / Sanger, Texas, USA

Info from Licensor: "We just decided to have an afternoon on the lake and catch some sun at Lake Ray Roberts. We knew there was a storm rolling in from the north but it appeared to be moving away from us. In a matter of minutes the storm organized again and we decided to leave but as we headed out, we could see a wall of rain. Halfway there we drove into the wall of rain but it was actually hail. The hail hit harder as we drove against the winds. At first we laughed it off but after a few minutes we were all huddled under the cover and covering ourselves with towels as best we could. Will and Danny are like best friends and Will thought he could block some of the hail from Danny so he could drive us to safety. We finally made it to the marina and a really nice man moved a few jet skis so that we could pull into the dock. There we rode out the rest of the storm with the fisherman. We offered everyone food that we had prepared and brought along, we made the best of the situation and had fun at the marina during the storm."
