Waves roar on Pensacola Beach ahead of Michael's predicted Category 4 landfall

Red flags were raised at beaches along the Florida Panhandle on Tuesday, October 9 as Hurricane Michael strengthened.

The hurricane grew to a Category 3 storm earlier in the day, and authorities say it could be upgraded to a Category 4 just before landfall, which is expected tomorrow.

This video, filmed on Pensacola Beach, shows the crashing waves and high tide at about 6 pm.

Evacuations have been issued along parts of the Panhandle, and residents have been preparing by boarding up homes and stocking up on supplies for what is said will be the area's strongest hurricane in at least 13 years
