Whale Shark with Dolphin Duo

Occurred on December 27, 2018 / Socorro Island, Mexico

Info from Licensor: "This rare sight of two Bottlenose Dolphins escorting a Whale Shark was shot at Socorro Island, 280 miles off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This area is known as the Revillagigedo Islands. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a protected marine reserve. The Mexican Navy helps protect the area from fishing. Socorro is known for its big animal marine life and is one of the best places in the world to swim with Bottlenose Dolphins. To swim with the dolphins is a fantastic experience, to swim with a whale shark is also a fantastic experience. To witness dolphin and a whale shark swimming together is a once in a lifetime opportunity! The whale shark was on the younger side. Maybe the dolphins were helping the whale shark and showing it the migration direction. It was late in the season for whale sharks. Maybe this whale shark was behind the others in the migration."
