Wild bear pulled out of 40-feet well in four-hour rescue operation

A bear fell into a well in a village in eastern India on March 3, while looking for food.

The incident took place in Bedhasahi village near Balasore in Odisha, India.

The local villagers spotted the wild bear inside the well and alerted the local forest department.

A team of officials rushed to the spot and managed to bring up the animal after a four-hour rescue operation.

Officials said the bear had strayed away from the Swarnachuda jungle in search of food. “We will release it back in the jungle after a medical checkup,” said an official.
