Zookeepers make dumplings for primates to celebrate Lunar New Year' Eve

Zookeepers made fruit dumplings and "red envelopes" for primates in a zoo in northwestern China to celebrate the Lunar New Year's Eve.

The video, filmed in Xining City in Qinghai Province on Chinese New Year's Eve (February 4), shows lemurs and monkeys being treated with their favourite fruits inside steamed dumplings and red boxes.

During Chinese New Year, people usually have dumplings and give out red envelopes with money inside for good fortune.

In order to make the zoo animals feel the festive vibe, zookeepers wrapped fruits inside dough to make them into dumplings and also packed fruits into red boxes to treat the animals.
