Alligator Leaps Out Of The Water Attempting To Bite Woman On Zipline

Whenever we think of alligators, we think the worst. They take parts in our craziest nightmares, with their toothy jaws and beady eyes that can make even Superman run for the hills. Both Floridians and non-Floridians understand that the Sunshine State is also home to many alligators. The reptiles can be found in any water reservoir - ponds, lakes, and swamps all around the state, though every once in awhile they turn up in the most unexpected of places.

It appeared as if it was just a normal day in Florida. The alligator state is used to these crawlies popping up from out of nowhere at any point in time, so the appearance of this beasts was no big deal. However, the plot thickened when one reptile decided to test its luck with a woman hanging from a zipline.

A terrifying video has emerged on the Internet, shot on a pond in Florida of an alligator leaping out of the water trying to bite a woman passing overhead on a zipline. The clip is probably shot during one of those adventurous tours, where you get to see yourself perform an extreme sport of some kind and take the recording home with you as memento, and boy, this lady will definitely not forget this experience, ever. A woman is strapped and ready to go on a zipline station and she releases, not knowing about the dangers that are lurking in the murky waters down below.

Just as she is about to reach the end of the line, the gator opens its huge mouth and jumps from the pond, hoping to get a snack. Naturally, the woman is scared witless, but as she realizes that she is out of danger’s way, she starts screaming in excitement, and so does the rest of her group! The fright was definitely worth it for the adrenaline rush she got in the end.

It all boils down to a hormone called adrenaline. It is released by our adrenal glands usually in really stressful situations, thus getting the name ‘fight or flight’ hormone. What it does is speed up all of our normal functions, starting with our heart beating faster, making the blood flow faster to wherever it is needed. Along with adrenaline, the body releases other hormones that flow faster through the blood vessels thanks to adrenaline, some of them being the hormone of happiness - serotonin and the natural pain-reliever, the hormone endorphin. This heady mix of hormones is what makes these activities worthwhile to the so called adrenaline junkies.

"This video was taken as a group of zipline instructors were trying out a new zip line that passed directly over an alligator pond," the filmer wrote online.

"Needless to say, this new zipline route has never been put in service," he added.

What would you do if you came face-to-face with the king of the swamp? Would you be caught staring like a deer in headlights or would you run as fast as possible to safety? We all know that alligators are incredibly strong so the thought of fighting them off should be as far away from your mind as possible. Sometimes it’s better to show no fear than to act brave and get yourself injured or worse, a gator meal.
