Bungling staff drop patient off hospital trolley

Bungling hospital staff were given a dressing-down after wheeling out a patient who then rolled off the trolley.

Medics at the Rayong Hospital in eastern Thailand were carrying the sick woman to another ward when they lost control of the bed on a small slope.

CCTV footage captured the agonising moment the patient rolled off the trolley and slammed into the ground while wearing a pink gown.

Concerned nurses and passers-by gathered round to help the shocked person, who was eventually helped back up onto the bed and taken on her way after the incident on September 26.

But furious hospital boss Chaisit Thapchatree slammed the staff responsible and apologised for the blunder.

He said: ''The patient was asleep while she was being transferred. The doctor has already checked her body and she has gone home, now she is OK.

''The hospital has improved the route and the landscape since the accident. The staff may have been unprofessional and they have been warned about this.

''I have to apologise for the accident and for the inconvenience to the patient and relatives. This will not happen again.''
