Cattle Herd in a Tizzy Over Heron Visit

Occurred on November 25, 2021 / Vina, Alabama, USA

Info from Licensor: On Thanksgiving Day 2021, I heard a ruckus with the cattle behind my mother’s home. It was a low grumbling sound I had not heard before. When I went to investigate, I discovered this cowbird, also known as a cattle egret, with our herd of cattle. Note: in the video I referred to it as a heron. I was incorrect. Our cattle had never seen a cattle egret before. We don’t typically have them here. There were several newborn calves, so the mothers were in protective mode. They didn’t like the stranger very well. The end result was this cattle egret decided these cattle were not very welcoming and moved on to friendlier cattle!
