Chaos ensues when tiger enters remote Indian village

Residents of a village near Dhekiajuli in the Indian state of Assam feared for their lives recently when a wild tiger wandered close to their homes.

A video showed villagers chasing the big cat away on April 2 by shouting and banging a metal dustbin.

They then called forest officials who tracked the feline and managed to tranquilise and capture the animal in an operation lasting three hours.

The female tiger was taken to Assam State Zoo.
