Chinese vendor uses traditional cooking technique to make popcorn

Cool video captured a Chinese street vendor making popcorn using an old-fashioned technique in central China.

In the clip, shot in Yichang City in Hubei Province today (May 30), the vendor puts some corn kernels into a traditional popcorn machine and then puts it down over a stove to begin rotating it.

After around four minutes, he used a steel pipe to open the machine, which causes a loud bang, and then poured the fresh-cooked popcorn out.

This method was a traditional way to make popcorn in China. Customers can choose to use rice, corn kernels, myotonin or buckwheat as the ingredient to make the popcorn.
