Elephant’s day out triggers panic in Indian village

A rogue elephant entered an Indian village and caused havoc on December 1.

The young male elephant entered the village of Khordha in Odisha, and ran around wildly attacking people and damaging property.

It trampled over parked bicycles and scooters and then attacked several homes forcing people to get on to the roof for safety.

It also stood on the railway tracks for some time and delayed a few trains.

The elephant then retreated to the forest on its own. Officials said three people suffered minor injuries while trying to escape from the rampaging elephant.
