Endangered whale shark washes up dead in southern India


An endangered whale shark washed up dead on a shore in Southern India on Thursday.

The footage filmed in Thoothukudi shows the 20-foot long fish being pulled onto the shore by the fishermen who found it.

They later informed officers of the Tamilnadu Government Fisheries Department.

An investigation is now ongoing.

Whale sharks are the world's biggest fish and are listed by the IUCN as "endangered."
