Hong Kong airport staff sent home after protests force flight cancellation

Workers at Hong Kong International Airport were told to go home early on Monday after anti-government protesters forced the cancellation of departing flights.

A video showed scores of administrative staff walking from the airport across a bridge to the closest public transport stations.

Thousands of anti-government protesters have gathered at the airport, which is one of the world's busiest.

Officials said operations had been "seriously disrupted" by the protests.
