Hundreds line up outside dispensary in Quebec as Canada legalises recreational marijuana

Dispensaries across the country opened their doors for the first time to long lines of Canadian customers, marking the legalisation of recreational marijuana use in the country.

Some reportedly reached dispensary SQDC four hours before the opening time of 10 am, local media reported. Customers cheered as doors finally opened.

Medical marijuana has been legal in Canada since 2001. It is now the second country in the world, after Uruguay, to legalise it for recreational use.
