Major fire breaks out at pharmaceutical building in Sao Paulo, Brazil

A large fire broke out at the building of Brazil pharmaceutical giant EMS in Sao Paulo on Saturday, October 20.

This video shows columns of thick smoke emerging from the site.

According to local media, an employees' family day event was taking place inside when the incident happened. Everyone was safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Strong winds threatened the movement of the fire towards nearby residences, forcing locals to leave.

EMS is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Brazil, employing close to 5,000 employees in the country.
