Man shot at Sydney hospital after 'pulling knife on security'

Police are seen at Nepean Hospital in Sydney today (October 4) after a security guard shot a man who had allegedly threatened him with a knife. The hospital was placed into lockdown and emergency services rushed to the scene at 4:00 PM local time (6 AM BST). The man is currently undergoing emergency surgery, according to local media. Footage shows police vehicles arriving at the 520-bed teaching hospital located in the suburb of Penrith. The filmer writes: "I was visiting a family member at Nepean Hospital today. "As I was walking to get back to my car on the hospital grounds police officers were screaming 'run to safety', so me and my kids ran to the car and locked it but then an officer said get out of the car and evacuate across the road."
