Stunning drone footage shows China's new record-breaking bridge

Stunning drone footage shows China's new 55-kilometre Hong Kong- Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, which officially opened on Tuesday.

The structure is the world's longest sea bridge and connects Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai, three major cities on the Pearl River Delta.

The bridge cuts hugely the commuting time between the cities.

The previously four-hour drive between Zhuhai and Hong Kong will now take 45 minutes.

One section of the crossing dives underwater into a 6.7-kilometre tunnel that creates a channel above for large cargo ship containers to pass through.

Vehicles began crossing the bridge today (October 24th).
