Thousands turn out for 'Battle of the Oranges' in north Italy
Thousands of revellers gathered in the small Italian town of Ivrea on Sunday to hurl 500,000 kilograms of oranges at each other.
The bizarre event commemorates an incident that dates back to medieval times when the starving townspeople were freed from the tyranny of an evil baron.
