Uber passenger 'shoots, kills another rider' in Texas

An Uber rideshare passenger was shot and killed while inside the vehicle on Friday (April 26) in Harris County, authorities have said.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said deputies responded to a call from an Uber driver, who picked up a fare about 1.5 miles away.

The Uber driver stated that a male fare got into the back of the car when another rider approached the vehicle and shot the victim multiple times.

The driver fled to a parking lot at TC Jester and FM1960 and awaited law enforcement. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the filmer.

A second crime scene and containment was established at the location of the shooting, TC Jester and Laurel.

The suspect is described as a black male, who was wearing a white shirt, tan pants and had shoulder-length dreadlocks.
